Police Corruption. Nick Adderley’s lies from medals to murders.

Nick Adderley. A name of someone once tipped to head up The Met, is now synonymous with infamy and exaggeration after being exposed for wearing Falklands medals, when he was still studying for his O levels in School, during the conflict in 1982.

Before looking at the latest revelation of murders he is involved in, we need to first analyse how he dealt with the medals scandal in September 2023. His immediate defence comes out of the classic playbook to deflect, by ensuring the narrative is shifted away and downplayed as something trivial.

Special delivery for Mr Adderley, Royal Mail & Fujitsu have written to you, they want their playbook back!

He issued a statement to the press after being outted, apologising for wearing his brothers’ medals (to honour their service) on the wrong side of his tunic, and has since taken advice regarding the protocol and will now change the side he wears them on. This meant the very top level conversation followed his misdirecting statement, and just became that he wore medals on the wrong side of his tunic, being just a storm in a teacup. Many people began repeating this, asking what all the fuss about wearing medals on the wrong side was all about.

Exactly what such a Machiavellian pathological narcissist, adept at courting the media wants!

This plan does not totally throw on the brakes to the story, but sufficiently swerves the wheel and slows down the momentum, where he hoped it would die down and be forgotten, leaving him to be quietly pensioned off on his £165,000 a year, taxpayer funded salary.

He even doubles down showing anger that someone felt the need to make a story out of this, hoping no doubt his loyal bootlickers that he cultivated via Twitter that act as a sufficient shield to criticism, would amplify his statements and feelings of anger and counteract the negative PR.

That strategy has proven to have had quite the opposite effect, as due to his litany of lies and exaggerations he could blame on reporters for misquoting him, he forgot how 10 years prior in 2013 he was interviewed by John Scheerhout for his book “Lured to their deaths, Caging a killer.”

You can see from the author’s thanks that Adderley was interviewed for the book, so there is no mistaking where any of these facts and quotes came from.

Chapter 13 “Wounds that run deep” shows the direct quotes from Adderley in it, talking about how he saw people die in The Falklands conflict. I am tempted to think he could mean on the TV after a hard afternoon of double Maths, but the lie about being a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy for 10 years, prove this was all about showboating.

Adderley then goes on to have a verbatim quote in the book, explaining how he experienced loss of life in active service.

Where? When?

He was a rating for less than 2 years from October 1984 until being booted out of the Royal Navy in 1986 and has failed to provide knowledge of any hitherto unknown war between these times that he valiantly played a part in where people got killed. One that the Thatcher government at the time also managed to keep secret from the entire British public.

When you then start to realise that all the false quotes of The Falklands in the press would have come directly from Adderley himself, you realise what a pathological liar this man is. When then also coupled with how he took this opportunity of two innocent young women being murdered as a chance to showboat and make it all about him, then you actually start to see what a truly sick and narcissistic individual he is. Nicola and Fiona were murdered and as much as he claims he does, his lies show he has no respect for their memory. Choosing to lie, and not just little white lies, but inventing grandiose claims about his own bravery, seeing imaginary people killed in wars he never fought in, leeching off the true bravery of genuine veterans.

You might think all these lies are just one dimensional and relate to some singular obsession with the Royal Navy, and that his focus is ONLY about getting adoration and attention as some perceived military hero.

Like Nick Adderley riding the lifts at The Grosvenor Centre, you’re wrong on so many levels.

So that’s the preamble, he claims he worked at the Home Office during the horrific murders of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman by Ian Huntley in August 2002. Adderley’s involvement was apparently reporting into The Home Secretary. Adderley talks about his 1-2-1 meetings with Home Secretary David Blunkett and how furious he (Blunkett) was that Ian Huntley, with his criminal record, was able to get a job in a school, raising questions over why Huntley was not properly vetted and identified.

Adderley mentions about sitting in on the meeting and being responsible for interviewing the staff of Chief Constables David Westwood of Humberside and Tom Lloyd of Cambridgeshire.

Keep that memory of Adderley being at the Home Office in the summer of 2002 alive in your mind as we take a deep dive into Adderley’s career from starting as a PC in February 1992, through to being made Chief Superintendent of Tameside in 2011.

An interesting observation is how Adderley comments that due to his commitments and children at home, he couldn’t give the time required as a PC.

Given his decree nisi application was issued on 8th October 1993 and these are usually issued 8-10 weeks after the initial petition bringing us back to August 1993 when his first wife had decided the marriage was over, this is a little over 18 months since he joined the force.

When you consider how Adderley’s inability to keep it in his pants meant he made sure he found sufficient spare time to get his leg over and commit adultery (a common theme as were now on the 3rd Mrs Adderley) before unceremoniously ditching his first wife & kids, this comment trying to make out he was choosing to be Father of the year rather than focus on his career has all the depth and warmth of a car park puddle on a wet January morning.

Adopting the Adderley approach to career and self-promotion, you can see my graphic design BA Hons Degree along with my Civil Engineering PHD being put to the test with breath-taking work in Photoshop to show the infographic of the timeline of Adderley’s promotions, despite it looking like it was edited in MS Paint in 5 minutes.

There is a more detailed breakdown of each stage of his career below.

1992

Adderley joins Cheshire Constabulary in February 1992

Probably the only audio clip in here that is genuine without any embellishment, Adderley confirms he joined in February 1992
We already know how he lies about his age, but just for context how lies just fall from his lips, here is Adderley in his own words, saying how he joined in February 1992 and was a late joiner at 28, when in fact being born in September 1966, he was only 25 years old.
He then slips in another lie, stating he applied to join the Police as he was leaving the Royal Navy.

Given he was the Hooton Arms licensee between June 1989 – July 1990 and had long been kicked out of the Navy back in 1986, this shows how pathological his condition is, needing to lie about every detail of his life.

1997

Runcorn Weekly news publishes the article in September about how brave PC Adderley of the Halton Traffic unit, managed to disarm a woman while his 2 colleagues were out of sight in the December of 1996. The lack of witnesses to what happened, why a traffic cop was attending a domestic & Adderley’s fondness for tall tales of his own acts of bravery really make me question what went down at this incident.

Nonetheless records clearly show he was a PC in 1997

1998

Northwich Chronicle in June 1998 comments on how Adderley has been newly promoted to the rank of Sergeant, recycling the events of December 1996 that lead to Adderley getting a bravery award.

His first taste of getting an award for claiming an act of bravery, possibly what started him off on his walting?

Adderley in his own words, comments how he spent 6 years or so at the rank of Sergeant. So with promotion in 1998, this takes us to around 2004.

2002

Warrington Guardian publishes an article in December 2002 how the then Chief Constable Nigel Burgess is retiring and will be succeeded by Peter Fahy.

Adderley in his own words talks about how Peter Fahy wanted Adderley for the role of his staff officer when he took over the role of Chief Constable.

Allowing for Christmas we can comfortably put an estimate of Adderley the taking role of staff officer for the newly appointed Peter Fahy, at January 2003 at the earliest.

Adderley states he worked for Sir Peter in this role for 2 years.

2004

A letter from Adderley in his role of staff officer to the Chief Constable, dated 20th May 2004 responding to complaints made, demonstrates he was staff officer during this period and was now at the rank of Inspector.

Adderley, in his own words, states he worked for Sir Peter for 2 years at the rank of Inspector before discussing what was next. Assuming he got the job instantly when Peter Fahy took office in January 2003, the letter of 2004 fits and takes his stint as Inspector up to around January 2005.
Adderley also confirms that a secondment to The Home Office came up and he took that, getting a promotion to the rank of Chief Inspector when he moved across.

2006

The report dated 13th February 2006 titled “Penalty Notices for Disorder” by Charles Kraina of Hertfordshire Police shows Nick Adderley as being involved in the report, with his job department of Police Standards Unit and a Home Office address listed.

The link to the online document on the Government website can also be found here

This again fits with the timeline of him leaving Peter Fahy’s staff officer circa 2005.

Adderley confirms that after the secondment ended after 2 years and that he came back to Cheshire as a Chief Inspector

The news article from December 2006 reports as Adderley being a Chief Inspector at Cheshire Police.

Putting aside the lie about his involvement with the 5 forces merger as this had been shelved before he came back, 2005 – 2006 at the Home Office to come back mid to late 2006 all seems to stack up.

The information between 2007 – 2011 is a little sparse, as much like the BBC and other institutions after the Jimmy Saville scandal broke, many publications like Police Oracle have purged all their articles about Adderley, likely due to not fact checking anything he told them and trying to distance themselves and cover up their own shortcomings of how they help Adderley defraud the public purse by acting to amplifying his lies through their publications.

2011

The article dated August 2011 confirms Adderley had been in the role of Chief Superintendent of the Tameside division for 2 weeks.

?????

Now this is the part where Adderley goes all Doctor Who on us, claims his promotion to Chief Inspector and secondment to the home office involved time travel as he went back to 2002 for this.

Utter lies!!

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/nick_adderleys_time_as_a_chief_c

By his own admission he was still a Sergeant in 2002 as he held the rank for 6 years from 1998, and was still an Inspector in 2004, making it impossible for him to be a Chief Inspector on secondment to the Home Office in 2002.

He then talks about having 1-2-1 meetings with Lord David Blunkett in his role as Home Secretary

Lord Blunkett left the role of Home Secretary in December 2004, long before Adderley’s 2 years with Peter Fahy were up and long before he could have taken up ANY role at the Home Office. This is not just a small omission getting his dates wrong, he actively lies about having 1-2-1 meetings with Lord Blunkett, again fabricating events he took part in to build a false narrative to garner public sympathy.

The false narrative as alluded to the in the top of this blog is the Soham murders.

You can hear how he says he was involved in matters there, not with the murders themselves, but the investigation into the vetting failures of Ian Huntley.

Chief Constables David Westwood of Humberside on the left and Chief Constable Tom Lloyd of Cambridgeshire on the right were both investigated for their failures to share information and properly vet Ian Huntley before he was appointed as a caretaker and went on to murder Holly & Jessica in 2002.

There is a certain irony with what we now know about Adderley and how he was never vetted by ANY force he worked for, how he claims here that he was front and centre rooting out Police who failed to do vetting checks.

Police may claim that statements about them not doing vetting checks on Adderley are false and they did, but given all the FOI requests made, confirm no force holds ANY records as they have all conveniently deleted them, and how vetting would flag up the reality of Adderley as landlord of the HMS Hooton Arms rather than his fantasy of Lieutenant on the HMS Hermes, they are hard pressed to reconcile their assertions of correctly carrying out these checks.

The Bishard Inquiry, ordered by Lord Blunkett in December 2003 and published in 2004 was the official inquiry into this scandal. A link to one of the many places the report can be read is below.

https://www.virtual-college.co.uk/resources/the-bichard-inquiry-report

Keith Povey played a major role into investigating the actions of the Police, as point 29 of the Bishard Inquiry report clearly spells out.

Adderley’s name does not feature on either the team responsible, nor as a Home Officer contributor who provided evidence, yet he claims that in 2002/2003 he was there at briefings with David Blunkett and going off to interview staff of the Chief Constables.

The obvious answer of why his name does not feature is best answered with the question “why would it?”

He was not there!

He was busy being a Sergeant in Cheshire Police at this time.

Unlike his time playing dress up pretending to be a Navy officer at remembrance Sunday in 2019, and as disgusting as that was, you can almost get your head around that. Knowing he joined the Navy and couldn’t cut it and was just pathetic, much like the old drunk at the end of the bar in your local, wanting to embellish stories they tell by exaggerating their feats, you can often move from feeling anger to just feeling pity.

He stretched the excuse for his lies beyond any reasonable acceptance by capitalising on the murders of Fiona and Nicola in 2012, by giving statements to John Scheerhout for his book, waxing lyrical about how brave he was, seeing people die in The Falklands War that he fought in, and how that had never affected him, but the deaths of these two female Police officers did. You then see just how sick he is, seeing colleagues’ deaths as something to use to showboat off of the back of.

However all that pales in insignificance, when you have the horrific murder of 2 little girls with their whole lives ahead of them, something that really touched the nation for how tragic it was, and something Adderley had no involvement with whatsoever.

He inserted himself into the trauma, to get attention and glory, making out he was one of the heroes behind the scenes. This shows you what a truly disgusting and sick individual he is, ghoulishly using their murder, trashing their memory for nothing other than his own gratification.

Epilogue

It is very easy to dismiss Adderley as just being a single bad apple, however the truth is there is a far wider rot within Northants Police that he helped to cultivate and encourage that continues. Adderley ran Northants Police like a crime syndicate mafia, anyone on Twitter who would jump in on his pile-ons he would encourage when challenged, would in turn have a bright future in his cabal, with their wrongdoings covered up. While he is gone and this has shone a light on the corruption within Northants Police, it does not mean it has stopped matters.

One of many examples being how an FOI request about Detective Inspector Elizabeth Basham NOT declaring her directorship of a limited company has been refused, citing it as vexatious, because it will likely lead to more complaints.

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/detective_inspector_elizabeth_ro#incoming-2516114

This failure to declare an interest may seem trivial, but as a director and trustee of a limited company, this creates a financial responsibility on her should the business enter financial difficulty, thus no matter how innocuous or respectable a business it is, this needs to be recorded on the register of interests to prevent any conflict of interests in any dealings DI Basham has with the business and its staff, in her role as a Police Officer.

This obfuscation over her being a director of a business is made all the more curious by this just happening to be the same business the Police Fire & Crime Commissioner Stephen Mold was also a director of.

This directorship is of course prior to him trying (and failing) to be selected as Conservative candidate MP for Northampton South in the 2015 General Election. He lost out on that role to David Mackintosh, who weirdly faced a criminal investigation and prosecution (that spectacularly failed in November 2023) that began shortly after Stephen Mold became the Police Fire and Crime Commissioner in 2016.

This whole situation is made even more bizarre by DI Basham’s boss, Detective Superintendent Joe Banfield lying in a letter stating that Basham is NOT a director, despite Companies House records showing she is.

The inference being he does not know nor check such things before making statements, or does know but has no issue with lying to close a complaint down.

I naturally called out Banfield for what I viewed as either lying or incompetence in his job.

His response was to tell me he refused to reply and explain matters as I had posted parts of his previous letter out of context on social media.

The exact same image above is what was posted, and given how he only makes a single statement about DI Basham and explicitly states he will not be addressing it further, I am struggling to see what the further context is that he feels is missing?

It seems that these senior officers of DSu Banfield and DI Basham that were in Adderley’s inner circle, are NOT fans of transparency and scrutiny.

There is an entire misfeasance and corruption universe (the Northants MCU if you will) with lots of powerful people all doing their best to cover for one another and becoming ever more transparent in their attempts to cling onto their positions of power by their fingernails.

You just need to look at Peter Bone being removed as the MP for Wellingborough and his girlfriend and taxpayer funded assistant Helen Harrison being stood as the replacement in the upcoming by-election, to see how deep the rot runs within our county.

We all deserve better and if the officials in office will not take action, we need to keep up the public pressure through the media. Just look at how quick things turned around for Mr Bates V The Post Office when the media and an ITV drama made us aware of matters.

If you’ve read this and you’re struggling to know what you can do to take action, a real easy action is to ensure you go out and buy a local paper to help support local journalism that shines a light on these things, applying the pressure needed for action to be taken.

There have been a few questions and comments made about my motivations behind exposing Nick Adderley. These are broken down into 2 distinct reasons below:

  1. The primary reason is detailed in my other blogs, you will see I was a victim of several crimes, with the most serious being rape that was covered up since 2015. Adderley, when he came to Northants, played a large part in helping to cover this up and after I kept kicking off to Police about their failures, became subject to harassment and a smear campaign by Adderley to discredit me and keep the crimes covered up. Naturally I am motivated to get my crimes actually investigated properly, and the only way to shine a light on the failings and get attention on my plight, is by exposing just how corrupt Adderley and his officers are.
  2. The secondary reason is how all the veterans who gave their lives in various conflicts have a skillset I don’t. People with this skillset joined the forces, giving their lives in the Falklands War in 1982. Veterans are naturally angered by Adderley leeching off their sacrifices, but do not have the experience or knowledge to expose Adderley to ensure he is suitably held to account. I DO have the skillset to investigate and articulate matters, so seems only fair I use my skills to help Veterans and repay them for what they gave freely to us all.

My name is Scott L(awrence) Pileckas of http://www.Pileckas.com, and I approve this message as the future Governor of California (or Arizona, who knows) and as a serving member of our local government’s social services.

Si mate – you have outdone yourself. You deserve the Pulitzer for this work. Like you, I was sexually assaulted by two of FCC (faux chief constable) Adderley’s lackeys in 2016 in Milton Keynes, and when I complained and unsuccessfully prosecuted his two rogue officers, I myself was charged with ‘stalking’ – totally bogus charges and, contrary to the news, the court insisted on and demanded a ‘guilty’ plea much like for the sub-postmasters up and down our country. I absolutely stand by prosecuting sex offenders, paedophiles, and malicious public officials. It is a sad day in Britain when a victim of sexual molestation by two individuals who work for the police is prosecuted in order to deflect from those offences in order to save face.

It didn’t work out for Nicky, and I believe the iterative complaints by myself, in addition to your excellent work for your countrymen starting at home here in Northamptonshire, is the catalyst for his termination… which is ON THE HORIZON (bwahahaha, no pun intended).

    Well done, amigo.
